The Height of Summer

DSCN3864

August is the height of summer for me. It’s often when I’ve experienced the best weather across the UK, save for the odd storm and rainy day, but August tends to be full of sunshine and those classically hazy, sultry summer nights, which I will never tire of. While June and July can be categorised by me with those lush greens and bright flowers, August and September conjures for me those relaxed, golden fields full of hay bales and grasses glittering in the golden afternoon sunshine, hence today’s photo choice. This was taken back in 2014 in the field next to our house when we first moved up to Cumbria, and this field was a constant source of joy and exploration for me. It would change beautifully as the season’s moved forwards throughout the year, and these golden field moments have to be one of my favourites.
